Loop Sessions DMV: The 2nd Anniversary Live Edition

Loop Sessions assembles beatmakers under one roof for a gathering of music production and networking. Using the equipment of their choice while sampling from the same vinyl, participants have a few hours to put their creation together. There's no contest; just creative content!
After what will be 25 online sessions as of February 3rd 2023, and the first ever in-person event last summer, Loop Sessions DMV is partnering with non-profit organization and music collective Grimalkin (who have supported LSDMV's growth as a chapter since its inception) in returning to the real world, this time in RVA at the Garden Grove Brewery, Saturday February 18th from 1-8pm EST, featuring a record selected by Richmond-based hip-hop artist Ty Sorrell.

The concept is simple: beatmakers are given one record to sample in a beat in a matter of hours, and the night concludes in a showcase of the beats. These events typically take place in a venue for 5 hours and artists only have 5 minutes each to skim and record samples off the chosen vinyl, then return to their respective stations and work with the hardware/software of their choice.
Closing the event will be a special Loop Sessions Cypher, featuring beats produced at LSDMV_025 and MCs from Grimalkin Records, DJ'd by Hunting Dog.

Producers, beatmakers, musicians and music enthusiasts alike are all invited to participate and attend; those wanting to produce must sign up via Google Form, and attendees are asked to RSVP for free via Eventbrite. For more information contact loopsessionsdmv@gmail.com.
