The Richmond Symphony welcomes cellist and Sphinx Competition winner Sterling Elliott as our first artist in residence of the season. Sterling is an incredibly talented cellist who also happens to be from Virginia! After winning the Richmond Symphony League Concerto Competition in 2014, Sterling went on to win first prize in the Senior Division of the 2019 Sphinx Competition. Now a student at Juilliard, Sterling has performed with the New York Philharmonic, The Cleveland Orchestra, Virginia Symphony Orchestra, Boston Symphony Orchestra, and many more. Sterling is an artist-in-residence with the Richmond Symphony this month and will be performing the Haydn Cello Concerto No. 2 in D
