This event is part of our Women's History Film Tour 2023. A Conversation with Denetra Hampton on the Intersection of History and Health Equity. Join Producer, Denetra Hampton for a screening of her documentary, THE BLACK ANGELS: A NURSE'S STORY. The documentary hails out of Staten Island, New York at Seaview Hospital. It gives homage to 300 African American nurses who risked their lives to care for patients with tuberculosis in the 1940's when there was no cure and white nurses refused. Audiences will be able to hear from Black Angel, Marjorie Tucker Reed and her journey while working at Seaview. There will be a Q/A after the screening with the Producer.
