Tell us a little about yourself.
I’m an RVA transplant originally from the DMV (Northern Virginia). I am a sales & advertising professional with over ten years in the radio industry, and a proud HBCU graduate (Howard U, #therealHU).

Describe Richmond.
Unique. Historic. Artsy.

From sun up to sun down, what’s your ideal day in RVA?
For me, a great RVA day starts with a workout at one of our amazing parks like Libbie Hill, then hitting the new Ms. Bee's Juice Bar on Brookland Park Blvd. I’ll kick off the afternoon with lunch and a vibe at Urban Hang Suite, then stop by Virginia Museum of Fine Arts to check out one of their current African American exhibits, then ending the day with dinner at Spoonbread Bistro and a night out at Vagabond.

What would you say is Richmond’s best kept secret?
Grandstaff & Stein, the ultimate secret, a Richmond speakeasy. Check out their Instagram page weekly for the password to get in.

BLK RVA is all about supporting the thriving Black businesses and culture in the Richmond region and encouraging tourists to do the same. What’s one thing every visitor MUST do/see when they come to our region?
Check out the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. The VMFA is a really special place with some amazing exhibits and now is home of Kehinde Wiley's Rumors of War statue. From large exhibits, to intimate events and everything in between this museum of a must see while in RVA.t.

You live in Richmond’s Northside. What’s your favorite thing to do when you’re staying close to home?
I live in the Northside, where rebuilding is happening before our eyes. When I am staying close to home, I’ll grab food at Boogaloo's or Shrimps and grab a beer at Tabol with my husband.

When we say the name BLK RVA, what does that mean to you?
To me, it represents the past, present, and future of how African Americans are reshaping and shaping the culture of Richmond. We have a rich history here and an exciting future.
